Summer in the prairie.

Our Story

Before we started the farm, we had careers as natural resource managers - Erin with a degree in Restoration Ecology leading the Natural Heritage Conservation Program and Jack with a Water Resources degree leading the Science Services Program for Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources. We have dedicated our lives to conservation. That’s why we specialize in native woodland and prairie plants, and only offer other perennials that support wildlife.

Supporting Our Community

We believe in supporting our community. We donate native plants to parks, schools, restoration projects and conservation organizations through our Wish List Program, and we also donate vegetable plants to community local gardens.

  • Wish List Program

It Our mission is to help you help wildlife. One way we do this is by donating native plants through our Wish List program.

What is the Wish List Program?

The Wish List Program provides plants to school, conservation and governmental groups for their native planting and restoration projects.

    How does it work?

As a Wish List participant, you will create a list of the plants (types and quantities) you need for your native planting or restoration project from the White Pelican Farm website. White Pelican Farm will promote your project through our website and Facebook page. For every plant that is purchased, White Pelican Farm will donate a plant from the Wish List of the customer’s choice.

Who can participate in the program?

Schools, conservation groups and governmental entities utilizing the plants for native plantings or restoration work, for example school gardens, natural areas, park plantings, boat landings, prairies or riparian projects. If you have a question whether your project qualifies for the program contact us.

How can I sign up for the program?

Send an email to Erin Crain-Sullivan at Whitepelicanfarm@gmail.com with Wish List in the subject line. Provide a short description of your group, your project and a contact person for the Wish List program. Erin will get back to you and get you started.

We look forward to helping you with your native plant project!

Save Our Songbirds:

SOS Save Our Songbirds is a Wisconsin action campaign providing people information, resources, product discounts, and hands-on events to make small changes at home to help save declining songbirds. It empowers people to take three actions: add a few native plants, address windows birds fly into, and buy coffee grown in ways that protect birds' winter habitats in Central and South America.
